Canadian Dental Care Plan

CDCP

We Accept the CDCP at Rosedale Dental in Thornhill

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal initiative that helps cover up to 100% of dental treatment costs for eligible Canadians. If you've been approved, you can receive reduced-cost dental care at our Thornhill clinic.

Who Qualifies for the CDCP?

The CDCP is designed for Canadians without private dental benefits and with a household income under $90,000 per year. You may qualify if:

  • Your family net income is less than $90,000.
  • You do not have access to private dental insurance.
  • You are a Canadian resident and have filed your most recent tax return.
  • Applicants must have filed their 2024 tax return.

CDCP Application & Eligibility in 2025

If you are 65 or older, under 18, or an adult with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate, you can apply now.

For adults aged 18-64, applications open in May 2025:

  • May 1, 2025: Ages 55-64
  • May 15, 2025: Ages 18-34
  • May 29, 2025: Ages 35-54

Coverage for newly eligible adults begins as early as June 1, 2025.

Renewing Your CDCP Coverage

  • Current CDCP members must renew starting in March 2025.
  • The renewal deadline is June 1, 2025, to maintain uninterrupted coverage.

How Much Does the CDCP Cover?

The CDCP is not a completely free dental program. Depending on your adjusted family net income, you may need to pay a co-payment of up to 60%. Coverage percentages and co-payment amounts have not been officially confirmed.

What Dental Services Are Covered?

  • Preventive care: Cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants
  • Diagnostic services: Exams, X-rays
  • Restorative treatments: Fillings, crowns
  • Endodontic care: Root canals
  • Prosthodontics: Complete and partial dentures
  • Oral surgery: Tooth extractions
Note: Not all procedures are covered under the CDCP, and some require pre-approval starting November 2024.
